Overtime is counted per workweek (7-day blocks from your start date), as the FLSA requires. Workweek 2 in a biweekly sheet has its own 40-hour threshold. Leave daily OT/DT blank for the standard federal rule; check California for the §510 daily rules.

For employees and employers

Employees: fill your hours, check that the total matches your paycheck stub before you submit, and print or email a copy for your records — the share link keeps the data in the URL, so nothing is stored anywhere.

Employers & managers: create a tab per employee, set one set of pay settings, and export each sheet as CSV for your payroll system or as a signed-style PDF for the file.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a time card and a timesheet?
In practice, nothing — both record hours worked per day for payroll. “Time card” comes from the punch-card era; “timesheet” is the more common term for salaried and professional contexts. This calculator handles both.
Can I use one sheet for several employees?
Yes. Use the employee tabs — each tab keeps its own timesheet in your browser, and each exports separately to CSV or PDF.
How do I print a blank timesheet instead?
Use the free printable templates: weekly, biweekly, and monthly sheets in PDF and Excel, no registration required.
Can I pay different rates on different days?
Yes — fill the Rate column per day. Overtime is then paid on the weighted-average regular rate (total straight pay ÷ total hours), the FLSA method for two or more rates in one workweek.
Is my data saved anywhere?
Only in your browser (localStorage). Nothing is uploaded — there is no server. Use CSV/PDF export or the share link to move a timesheet to another device or person.
Does this handle California overtime?
Yes — check “California rules” in options: over 8 h/day at 1.5×, over 12 h/day at 2×, and the 7th-consecutive-day rule (first 8 h at 1.5×, then 2×), plus the weekly 40-hour top-up.
